Special Forces Seal

This seal is the U.S. Army Special Forces Regimental Crest, which depicts the rare and famous V-42 stiletto dagger of the First Special Service Force; a WWII joint U.S. and Canadian unit of great renown known as “The Devil’s Brigade." The dagger Thrusts vertically through the center of the crest, overlaying two crossed arrows partially enclosed by a ribbon-like scroll bearing the Special Forces motto: “De Oppresso, Liber” (To Free From Oppression). Says Atelier Gargoyle proprietor Ward Dunham: “Simple, elegant, powerful. This is one of the best designed of all military crests, and this small unit’s elite warriors, known as The Green Berets, live up to it.”

This seal is a jewelry-quality casting in bronze from the original seal, and the wood handle is turned in beautiful and incredibly durable black walnut, lightly finished. The original seal was engraved in gold in the 1990s by a European craftsman.
